Has no difficulty in understanding any type of conversation, simple or complex, as well as texts of all kinds, films, reports. Can understand the nuances of the Spanish language, as well as many of its different accents.

Oral Interaction
Can deal with any situation effectively, showing a spontaneous ability to adapt to any context, with a high degree of accuracy. He/she can establish any conversation or debate and is familiar with all kinds of colloquialisms, set phrases and popular sayings.

Written Expression
Can write complex texts, letters, emails, reports or articles in an appropriate and well-structured style. Can write both formal and informal texts and knows all the basic rules of Spanish grammar.

Listening and reading comprehension
Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts and recognise implicit meanings. Can understand television programmes and films without effort, as well as complex literary and factual texts, reports, technical instructions.

Oral Interaction
Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without obvious effort to find the right expression at any given moment.
Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and/or professional purposes.

Written Expression
Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of linguistic devices for organisation, articulation and cohesion.

Listening and reading comprehension
Can understand conversations, television news, many film dialogues. Can understand the main ideas of complex texts dealing not only with concrete but also with abstract topics, even of a technical nature, provided they are in his/her field of specialisation.

Oral Interaction
Can interact with native speakers with a sufficient level of fluency and spontaneity for communication to flow effortlessly between interlocutors. Knows the basic rules of grammar and uses them in conversation.

Written Expression
Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and defend a point of view on general topics, giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, study and leisure situations.

Oral Interaction
Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the Spanish language is spoken. Can describe experiences, events, wishes and aspirations, briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Written Expression
Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.

Listening and reading comprehension
Can understand sentences and the most common vocabulary on basic and personal topics.
Can understand some basic messages, signs and directions in shops, offices, schools and workplaces.

Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance for him/her (e.g. basic information about him/herself and family, shopping, places of interest, occupations, hobbies, etc.).

Written Expression
You can write personal notes and messages and e-mails.

Can understand very basic and elementary words and expressions. This is the beginning level of Spanish.

The learner will be able to participate in a conversation in a simple way and ask and answer simple questions.
He/she will be able to manage, using elementary language, in communication situations related to immediate needs or very everyday topics.

Can write short, very simple texts and formulate basic questions. Knows some basic rules of Spanish grammar.
