Arriving in a new city is an incredible adventure, but let’s be honest: not understanding a single word of what people are saying at the supermarket, in the pub down the road or when you’re trying to sort out some paperwork can be really frustrating.
You want to settle in, make local friends and stop relying on your mobile’s translation app for everything, but… where do you start if your Spanish is absolutely non-existent?
Learning a language isn’t a sprint; it’s a marathon. That’s why two-week ‘miracle courses’ don’t usually work. What you really need is perseverance, a good method and, above all, to take it slowly but steadily.
If your goal for the new academic year is to stop being a tourist and start experiencing Madrid just like a local, we have the perfect solution for you.
The secret to perseverance: The ‘Shuttle’ method
In September, we’re launching our flagship course for beginners at Hablamos Escuela de Español: the Lanzadera A2 Extensive Course. It’s designed specifically for people starting from absolute zero and wanting to finish the academic year with a solid A2 level under their belt.
What does it mean to have an A2 level? It means you’ll be able to do more than just say ‘hello’ and ‘thank you’. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to hold everyday conversations, understand directions on the street, order in restaurants with complete confidence, talk about your past and make plans for the future. In short: you’ll have real independence in your day-to-day life.
Three hours a week: No pressure, but with results
We know you’ve got a busy life: work, studies, friends, exploring the city… That’s why the Lanzadera A2 course is designed to fit in with your schedule. It’s just three hours of lessons a week, spread across a range of available timetables so you can choose the one that suits you best (mornings or afternoons).
It’s the perfect balance. It won’t overload your schedule, but as it’s a full-year programme, you’ll find that the language sinks in naturally, without having to memorise boring lists of verbs the night before.
Learning Spanish doesn’t have to be boring
Forget traditional lessons where the teacher talks and the students fall asleep. Here, lessons are in small groups, dynamic, engaging and great fun. Our team of experienced native-speaking teachers comes in every day with a backpack full of fresh ideas, games and practical activities. You’ll learn by speaking, making mistakes (which is the best way to learn!) and having a laugh with your classmates, who are in exactly the same situation as you.
What’s more, studying at our school in the Atocha area means you’re right at the heart of everything. After class, you can head out with your new classmates to practise what you’ve learnt over a few beers in the local bars.
Places are snapped up (literally)
September seems a long way off, but the Lanzadera A2 course is in huge demand and places on the best timetables are limited. We don’t want you to miss out.
If you want this to be the year you finally speak Spanish and make the most of Madrid, now is the time to secure your place.
Get in touch, ask us about available timetables and take the first step. We promise it’ll be the best decision you make this year!
