This October, Hablamos had the opportunity to participate for the second consecutive year in the Spanish Language Week, an event organised by FEDELE (Federation of Spanish Language Schools as a Foreign Language).

As was the case last year, this conference brought together Spanish language teaching professionals, language agents and ELE teachers from around the world. The meeting took place in Logroño and was marked by the exchange of ideas, the strengthening of professional networks and reflection on the present and future of the sector.

On this occasion, our director, Julio Colmenero, attended on behalf of the school. The main objective: to continue learning, sharing experiences and seeking new opportunities for international collaboration.

A meeting to grow

The IV Spanish Language Week was much more than a conference: it was a space where teachers, educational agents, schools and language programme managers from different countries came together. For Hablamos, this was our second time participating, which allowed us not only to reconnect with colleagues in the sector, but also to consolidate our presence within the network of federated schools.

Throughout the three days of the conference, key topics were discussed, such as language tourism, educational innovation, sustainability in language teaching programmes and the importance of culture in the learning process. We attended conferences, workshops given by leading specialists in language teaching and presentations given by ELE publishers.

We met with various agents on a personal basis, which allowed us to gain first-hand knowledge of the needs of our future students.

Representing Madrid in Logroño

As a member of FEDELE Comunidad de Madrid since May 2024, Hablamos remains committed to providing quality, student-centred teaching with a strong cultural component. Participating in this event reaffirms our commitment to offering a comprehensive and meaningful educational experience for those who choose to learn Spanish with us.

‘Returning to Spanish Language Week has been a very enriching experience. These types of events allow us to listen closely to what our potential students need and also share what we do with passion at Hablamos. I leave Logroño with new ideas, contacts, and a lot of motivation to continue growing.’

Julio Colmenero, Director of Hablamos

Towards a more connected approach to teaching Spanish

At Hablamos, we look to the future with enthusiasm. We know that language learning goes far beyond the classroom, which is why we will continue to actively participate in spaces like this one, which inspire us to innovate and improve every day.

That’s why the Hablamos team is already working to implement all the ideas and improvements that the director gathered during the conference and, why not say it, also preparing for the 5th Spanish Language Week, which will be held in October 2026 in Alcalá de Henares.
